Canon updates
Canon on Tuesday announced yet another addition to its entry-level D-SLR lineup, the EOS Rebel XS, which in combination with the EOS Rebel XSi (announced in January), will replace the EOS Rebel XT and Rebel XTi.
Canon EOS Rebel XS
The new XS has some minor upgrades from the XT, including a 2.5-inch LCD (up from 1.8), a resolution bump from 8 megapixels to 10, and the XSi’s Live View feature—the ability to view a shot through the LCD rather than the optical viewfinder. The camera also includes a 7-point autofocus system and an unlimited burst rate of 3fps. The XS implements the new Digic III processor and boasts improved battery life.
First-time photogs will benefit from a prebundled kit that includes the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens, an image-stabilization lens that will help substantially reduce image blur.
